The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Luke Glendening to a professional tryout agreement, according to a report from Tampa Bay Lightning (TBLightning) on social media.
Glendening, 37, is a center with experience in the NHL, having played 934 games in his career, recording 85 goals and 90 assists for 175 points. This season, he has contributed 2 goals and 7 assists for 9 points in 70 games, playing a role primarily on the penalty kill as a bottom-six forward.
The Lightning are looking to add depth to their forward group, and Glendening's experience and penalty-killing ability could be valuable as the team continues to build for the season ahead.
With the Lightning currently in the midst of their season, the addition of Glendening on a PTO provides flexibility and an opportunity to evaluate his impact before any long-term commitment is made.
