The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Sasha Pastujov to a one-year, two-way contract for the 2026-27 season, according to a post from CanadiensMTL on Twitter.
Pastujov, 23, is a right-winger who spent the 2025-26 season with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL, where he recorded 21 goals and 36 assists for 57 points in 71 games. The Russian-born forward has yet to make an appearance in the NHL regular season.
The deal gives the Canadiens another young forward with proven offensive ability at the AHL level. Pastujov’s performance with the Gulls suggests he could be a contender for a roster spot in the coming season, though his NHL experience remains limited.
With the Canadiens looking to rebuild and develop young talent, Pastujov’s contract aligns with their current strategy of nurturing prospects through their system. His two-way contract also provides flexibility for the team depending on his performance and the needs of the roster.
