The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced two additions to their coaching staff, with Don Granato joining Rick Bowness’ team as an assistant coach and Cody Ward being named the club’s new video coach.
Don Granato, 58, brings experience from his time in the ECHL with the Columbus Chill during the 1992-93 season, where he recorded 16 goals and 32 assists in 63 games. While Granato has not yet played in an NHL regular-season game, his coaching background adds depth to the Blue Jackets’ staff.
Rick Bowness, 71, has previously coached in the AHL, where he played for Sherbrooke in the 1983-84 season, tallying 9 goals and 11 assists in 21 games. The Blue Jackets have not yet provided specific details on how these additions will impact the team’s strategy moving forward.
